Doesn't work for me, I tried that first.  It only changes the icon for the launcher (the java icon)  not the client itself.  After the client opens, it doesn't give me any right click options in the taskbar except to close it.  I'm on Windows 7 Pro.

Hey Paul, it sounds like you want the barebones client and not the launcher.

Note: This will not automatically update your game the way Launcher.jar does, so if there is an update you will need to open the Launcher or redownload.

Oh cool, I didn't even know that was a thing.  I always just used the launcher.
