Been playing for a couple days now and I'm really enjoying the nostalgia and the community around here. Can't wait to get to know some people around here. Any advice to help me progress and grow would be much appreciated. Happy new year everyone <3

Welcome! If I were you I'd make a few accounts from the beginning. Purely to save time and give yourself a kick start.

You're going to need plenty of food so make a fishing account and stock up on fish. It would be a good idea to make a "main". Use this to farm NPCs for loot, quest for rewards etc.. also if you're into pking, make yourself one of those too. 3 clients to begin with isn't so bad and you'll save yourself heaps of time.

Welcome, I would avoid fishing, fish are extremely cheap on this server due to free food introduced for pk events.

I would collect feathers, Snape grass, white berries, dragon bones (a bit later on), and such to get some money for what ever you want in game.

You can also buy vials for cash as well, and possibly flax, (market may be in question at the moment for flax) all those things are much better than fishing and cooking.
