So after I download I open "Launcher.Jar" nothing comes up and then another file appears in my desktop called "Launcher.Jar.cpgz"

I've never had this issue before. This is a new mac laptop i have and i cant play
its trying to open as a weird program. trying to find java so it opens as java but nothing.. cant find it

I've redownloaded java several times and different versions of java as well and nothing hmm

Are you sure you're installing the JRE when you install Java? It no longer ships with Mac OS as far as I know.

Also, I think installing the JRE is not handled via download in a browser. You should head to Applications > Utilities > Java Preferences. Open the Java Preferences.

Do you get this message?

If so, install and accept. Then try opening Launcher.jar or right clicking it and Open With -> Java
