Cannot progress merlin's crystal quest

Hey, I am sure this has come up before but I cannot advance this quest because whenever I try to spawn the beggar I get logged off and when I log back in he won't talk to me. I am using Android.

We are current experiencing issues with all programmatically spawned npcs. N0m is aware of the issue and has to rewrite a few things client side to fix it. He has been working on it.

Do you have access to a PC?  I did it the other day on PC and it worked for me.
