constantly says connecting please wait after i pop in username and pw. any suggestions?

He is connecting to the server but then not displaying the game. Maybe uninstall  then reinstall  java?

You already deleted all contents at ~/.rscrevolution then tried to restart launcher? What Mac OSX version are you on, and what version of Java is installed?

Java installed (Version 8 Update 111).

Osx Sierra

have deleted contents of the .rsc folder and redownloaded client
