I love special events, adds spice to life 
I would be happy to see even ONE of these come true on RSCR...
What are your thoughts on these? They would only occur on March 17th once a year.
Drink-a-Thon!
Double XP while under the effects of an alcoholic drink (i.e. beer, zammy wine, etc.) on top of the stat boost that comes with it
So if you want double XP that day, you have to keep knocking them back!! 
The best part? No hangover! (Unless of course you are drinking IRL at the same time)
Bar Fights
Would like to see some bar fights as well, maybe the Mods could hold a contest where the last one standing is the winner of something cool and have it take place at a Pub/Tavern somewhere
Fans of boxing would enjoy
Luck Increase
Luck of the Irish? Maybe just for that day, we could increase the rate of rare drops by a SMALL amount... enough to make people want to login and try their luck on getting some rare loot from monster drops
Shamrocks
Introduce a new rare item: Shamrocks - "Using" them will increase your rate for rare drops temporarily by a small amount outside the St. Patrick's Day Event. It would be wise to save up as many as you can get and use them outside of the event day when killing monsters with rare loot drops, or, sell them to others who want to benefit from it. Have the Shamrocks drop randomly like a Clue Scroll would or maybe re-color an Imp green and call him a Leprechaun, make it a rare Imp spawn.

I like the bonus xp while under the influence idea, +1 to that. The shamrock is the only other one I took into consideration.
I can understand if the Shamrocks aren't even considered, but I thought it may be a cool idea to have players collect and save a small piece of an event that would only happen once a year.
It may be best to keep that luck boost specific to one day out of the year, and let the players fight over the Fire Giants in the Wild

I was hoping we could have a Mod be a Referee and watch the fights. Two players duel each other at a time. No pots, no food until after your fight, no equipment at all, just one drink before you start and then have at it.
Of course, should be of similar level. Maybe we can just have everyone make a new character and keep it at a level cap. You can train whatever stats you want, just keep your character below XX Level.

The Irish celebrated it back in the 17th Century as the day their patron saint died, it's one of Ireland's most holy holidays
In the United States, however, we have twisted this into a day of heavy drinking, wearing green, and associating it with good luck and beer
It's customary to pinch someone who isn't wearing any green, and to kiss anyone who claims to be Irish themselves.
For the States, it's another reason to drink, but it's not a federal holiday here... no one gets off work or anything

St. Valentine's Day is another Christian holiday celebrating another Saint... but every country does it differently
In the United States, it typically involves confessing love to someone, candy, chocolate, or just celebrating love in general
I think St. Valentine's Day is lame, but St. Patrick's Day is alright with me
