I feel like runes are already too common.  Maybe, if we decrease the drop rates a good amount though.

Semi-difficult quest to begin the skill, slower experience progression, fewer rune essence locations, etc.  Plenty of ways to make sure it doesn't make runes worthless.

i'd say this is the single most important "skill" to have in order to have an active PK'ing scene. supplying all the potential PK'ers just by having a one way to obtain their supplies is more like a unalived. there's always more demand on PK supplies than anything else and "having" too many of them, is basically impossible. it doesn't actually matter if you sell your 20k airs for 50ea or 50k of them 20ea, you get your money and it just makes PK'ing way cheaper in general. making PK'ing too expensive is just one good way to get rid of the PK'ers, if not the best.

it's funny how you're still trying to squeeze all the sweat from these players in 2016, in a 15 year old game by having certain things hard to come by while others are "modernisized" to 2016 standards.

It would seem runecrafting would follow the natural evolution of RSC, but it can't be as ridiculous as RS2 made it.  It should be a tough, grinder's skill.

Not sure. When I was dealing with runes they were at an all time low 15gp per air/fire was easy.

It seems that there is an issue with runes or just the good ones are sold, every time I look at elemental runes they are 30-80gp. Odd though since fire giants, dragons etc drop 150-500 at a time. And honestly with these drop rates on runes it shouldn't be needed. I would not be against it if it would help people get into the wilderness faster to keep the pknig scene up etc because it would be easier or cheaper to get runes to pk.
