Hey Rawtalent, I would be happy to help. To start the 2017 quest you will need to speak with the red elf located by Santa (Not the ones that sell merchandise). From there he will give you a ring that gives you the illusion of being Santa, A bag of presents and a list of people to deliver the presents to. From there you will need 5 gold bars and 10 silver bars to get the compass to find Santa. From here gear up and bring a lot of food because you will be required to go to the south pole and search different huts to try and find the real Santa. It may take a bit but after you find a number of importers you will find the real deal. The Grinch will them appear and you will have to pelt him with snow balls until he dies.   

I think I covered most of the quest. Sorry if I am missing some detail but that is what I remember from it. If I missed anything just be sure to read the dialog and it should piece anything together that I forgot.
