Different Chatting Tabs?

Hey, I'm fairly new to this and what's been confusing me are the different types of chats. There's global, private, dialogue and team, which I understand when and why you would get messages in those tabs, but what is the "Chat" tab about? I've noticed I get random messages from people who aren't my friends and the chat does not duplicate from the Global tab. This may sound like a dumb question, but I just need simple verification tongue

Also, if I message in there, would they be able to see or do I have to @ them in a certain way?

hey there!
The chat tab shows messages from players around you in the same area, the characters you can probably see. They will all see what you say if you use chat instead of private message or team message, depending on of course are they reading the chat at the moment you say something in there.

Did you get it allfigured out? If Not I can explain
Also go into settings(wrench)>settings interface>message tab switch disable.   I believe that's the right direction, doing that will help you out a bit bet
