It's getting hot out there (or cold out there depending on where you are), which means that summer is finally here. That means it's time to celebrate with our new Summer Event which runs until July 2nd!

New Launcher

Before I discuss the event, we have a new all-in-one launcher so you'll have to download it and replace the old launcher in order to play. The new launcher integrates announcements and update logs for your own ease, and an option to access the website and forums, world map, as well as our discord channel and social media.

Summer Event

For a limited time only, you can gain Summer Tokens in-game by skilling or killing monsters. Talk to the Summer Vendor located in Edgeville to redeem your summer tokens for prizes!

Coffee, which will cause you to gain fatigue 50% slower for two hours, costs 200 tokens.
Caskets, which cost 250 tokens, have a chance of giving coins, ores, logs, fish (raw or cooked), armor, or some other materials prize when opened.
Finally for 25,000 precious summer tokens, you can buy one of the prized new cosmetic rares. There is a unicorn mask...^{The three colors of unicorn mask as seen in an inventoryUnicorn masks as seen when equipped}

Every time you gain experience for a noncombat skill, you have chance to get a drop so questing can reward you with tokens too. Combat skills XP doesnt result in getting tokens. As for monsters, those found in the wilderness have increased chances to give tokens compared to monsters outside wilderness, with higher level monsters and higher level wilderness areas having the best chances. A notable exception being the creepy lvl-70 carnival workers in the new 1v1 wilderness in the east, which have the best chance of dropping tokens.

1v1 Wildy

As mentioned above, the eastern portion of the wilderness is now set to have 1v1 combat limits, which means characters there can only fight one other character at a time. Click here to see the boundaries of the 1v1 area:

The Carnie monsters which have the highest chance of dropping summer tokens are located at the lvl-13 wilderness altar, as well as the haunted area northeast of that altar.^{Carnie locations on minimap}

Shoulder Padded Platebodies

Ahead of our clue scrolls update which will introduce trimmed, gilded, and god armors, we have implemented the option to add shoulder pads to your platebodies. Talk to Horvik the Armourer in east Varrock to pad your armor.

Horvik will charge you the following in order to pad the platebodies-
Bronze: 3 bronze bars, 10240 coins
Iron: 3 iron bars, 10840 coins
Steel: 3 bars, 13000 coins
Black: 17336 coins and no bars
Mithril: 3 bars, 17800 coins
Adamantite: 3 bars, 29200 coins
Rune: 3 bars, 107500 coins
