You don't need to subscribe to access any particular content. What subscribing does is gives you an XP boost: compared to RSC XP rates, having a gold sub yields a month of 9x, 4x, 3x, for combat, mag/pray, and other skills, respectively. With gold and platinum sub, it's 11x, 6x, 4x; and with no subscriptions at all, it's 8x, 3x, 2x. Subs also reduce fatigue rate, allow for longer afking (10 minutes gold, 15 g+p), and reduce the time limit for flooding global chat. They can be bought in game for gold or on the "store" tab after donating for tokens.

As for batching, certain skills will begin to repeat automated actions once you start getting higher levels, e.g. multiple fish cooking attempts with one click, basically it's one of the quality of life features introduced to make the game more playable to a modern palate.

Yup, the members areas items and quests are open for all. The only time you will hear people talk about f2p vs p2p is with regards to the wilderness rotation below the high wild fence, which is usually f2p only. ::wildy is the cmd to check rotation status.
