Make players pay to use auction house..Hands down most useless shit inside that auction house most of the time..

Make them pay 50k+ to set an item in there..Hands down don't even see people interact in edge or global trying to sell items..Honestly killed the way the game use to be. Don't event need to communicate to sell which makes the server look dead as shit for players with just people standing still.

you made a dam good point about the server looking dead due to the auction. people use to broadcast all the time but since ah lazy mode kicked in.

Having to sit there and actually try and sell and buy shit SUCKS. I never did it and wouldn't play for weeks after i ran out of stuff because i cbf to sit there and type ::say buying shitt 999 for hours. Fuck that bs.

This would be sweet! Have it go to a place mods can use for events and prizes etc. +1 to the 1-10%. I think it should be based on the value of the item.

The auction house does decrease player interaction but gives buyers and sellers more people to "interact" with who they normally would never see online because of time zone differences

I agree with the useless garbage on there but every now and again Ill sell a potato for 10k because its needed for a quest some where, so who is to say what is useless and what is not?

overall -1, dont punish people putting useful items on the AH

People need To use forums again to communicate about Selling/Buying. This hands down makes edge look like AFK Botters.

This is probably the only thing i disagree with you about Fran. Standing around typing to sell stuff is far beyond obsolete. It's a bad system and the ah is amazing.

If anything i wish edge had a 5hr timer so i could stand still there just so i could talk if i wanted to like chat or how IRC is. Why not?

2 hours would be great . I don't like Rs2, but when i logged in they even have people buying selling nonstop in varrock and edge and they have an auction house and making varrock look popping.

Here it's 100 players with an auction house no need to do anything besides check auction. This servers edge looks like a ghost town compared to turnip.

No auction house-Nonstop global buying/selling, along with nonstop players in edge buying/selling
No requirement to wear dragon(quests)-Nonstop stakers-61's,Gmagers-everything
--

Quests force people to play the game.  Quests force people to Interact with other players.  Quests make players buy items they normally wouldn't.  But you still wish to get rid of all quests.  Your suggestions just revolve 100 percent around you.

+1 We are not turnip and I think the server looks very alive without people spamming buy/sell on global.
Although in an economical sense I agree that we do need things to take GP out of the game.

Little sally has 1 million geepee, she wants a rainbow hat that currently costs 1 million geepee

Little sally only income is from stakes and does not high alch, thieve, or sell things to general store.

One week later

Little sally still has 1 million geepee, but ALL rainbows have gone up 500k. The inflation on just the rainbow peehats has most likely surpassed the amount of gold geepee introduction from high alching, selling things to store, and thieving.

Inflation is a gold sink gg, bye felicias

Summary: why take gold out of the population when item inflation is currently outperforming gp introduction (high alchs, thieving, selling items to stores). The only way new gp is introduced to the economy is through those methods.

The point of a gold sink, I thought, was to improve the purchasing power of gp. It's unclear to me how that would be accomplished by gp merely changing hands between players for items of like value. Rares are assets that continue to appreciate, and gp is not being removed from the game when they are bought and sold. Factors such as new players joining and participating in the economy, the cartel-ification of rares distribution / rares prices being disconnected from other item prices, further complicate your claim.

You mentioned staking, alching, thieving, selling to NPCs and selling to players. Staking and selling to players are zero-sum (nothing created / nothing destroyed), the rest are positive-sum for gp entering the economy, so I don't see how rares inflation causes gold to disappear. What am I missing?


Also, two issues that come up with AH flat fee is, 1) doesn't that exclude everyone who wants to sell an item worth the magnitude of the fee, and 2) won't everyone else offset their price exactly that amount anyway?

High alching (resource(s) for gold)
Selling to stores (resource(s) for gold)
Thieving (Nothing for gold)

Meanwhile most resources obtainable by skilling have a gp value
ores, fish, logs, bars, arrows, armour etc etc

we also have resources flowing in from monsters drops and quest rewards

So in one day in RSCR what do you think is mostly introduced GP or Resources?

If you guessed resources you are correct.

Now let's mix some rares into this bundle of fun & their crazy inflation patterns.

At the moment there is more value in items than there is gp. This creates a gap, ...called a contra gold sink.

Like you said staking is just a trading of wealth among the population, and rares have a 1gp value when it comes to high alching & selling to store.

We have a contra gold sink.

**Also I'd like to add that two of the three options require resources, for which at the moment people hold on to their resources because the market value is higher than the sell/high alch value. Which further proves that we don't need to add any gold sinks because we don't even have the gold at the moment to match resources that are currently in the game
