::toggle PK (Like open world pvp but better)

This is an idea used from Tera Online. Here's how it works.


1. You'd ::toggle pk and you'll now have a red skull like at HS.

2. You can now attack anyone outside of towns.

3. ANYONE even people who are not skulled can attack you and wont lose 6 items if they die. (could be 3 if need be.)

4. When skulled you'll get a boost of exp in skills and/or combat.

5. People who are not skulled cannot attack each other.

6. You have skull for 10min instead of 20 or we could go opposite and make it 30?

7. After logged out for 1 day it returns you to edge. If it ends up just being an event we could have it tele everyone to the closest town the day of?
That way people wouldn't get screwed the day of the event.

8. 5+/- levels you can attack. aka lvl 5 wildy everywhere out of towns.

9. Green zones = Safe, cant die, no pvp
Yellow zones = Safe, Cant die, Limited pvp flag system(knocked out on death, not actually dead)
Red zones = Neutral(ish), can die, pvp flag system (Someone flagged can attack you if you arent flagged, you can also flag and attack others, non flagged players cannot engage eachother)
Black zones = Dangerous, Can die, Full PVP (Everyone is flagged) aka wildy

I had made a comment about this in another thread but I can't seem to find it right now. N0m and a few others liked this idea so I thought I'd post it here.

THIS COULD ALSO BE A WEEKEND EVENT OR SOMETHING AND NOT ALL THE TIME.

FEEL FREE TO CHANGE THE IDEA OR ADD INPUT.

A stand still spot in edge with a 1 hr timer would be cool for idling just to chat.

I just can't see it being used. Where's the benefit? I can also see people forgetting they done it then getting geared up to stake and die and lose all there shit. While that would be HILARIOUS, it would most likely end up costing the server players in the long run.

The only benefit I can think off is giving said person double exp while training with it(even in non wildy) but it spams server will name of player as well as location. That would keep it exciting lol.

I didn't picture it like that in my head. It would be a toggle-able pvp mode that allows you to attack other players who have toggled it on, and when you toggle it off it will take 10 minutes to take effect (or death). You would have a different colored skull so players know you're in world pvp mode. And to make this worthwhile there should be some kind of benefit such as more experience or chance for double ore/fish/whatever skill you're doing. Because the map outside wilderness is so big, I think the skulled players should be traceable somehow, maybe an item that says if the player is north/east/west/south of you.

I can honestly see it working out but it might kill wilderness completely.

I'd definitely be keen to try this as an Event / rare occasion. I don't like the idea of it becoming permanent, it's just too different to RSC. But it's definitely an interesting idea worth trialing. I remember back when I managed my horeshit Demonik server years ago we had an open-world PVP system with safe zones inside all the banks and it was a lot of fun. It definitely changed the game though, a lot.

I like the idea. Maybe have it be a random day a week for 12 hours random in sequence that day. Have it announce 15 minutes before and only outside of major towns or maybe the whole isle of karajama (except shilo and elvarg area)? And +1 to a standing idle spot for 10 mins longer than your sub or regular provided idle time. Maybe a green or blue floored room next to ah?

Me personally I think it would change too much and with the recent updates isn't needed. Also too many places to hide in normal map and take advantage of extra xp.

As an event? Sure why not seems like it could be interesting for a weekend or two a year.
