Go BackA Beginners Guide to RSCRevolution
Welcome to RSCRevolution!
We are glad you found us! To start off, you will need to create a forum account - you can do this by clicking the “Register” tab at the top right of this page. Once you have made a forum account, you are going to need some player accounts to play on. You can create up to 10 characters per forum account. To do this, you need to go to the “Character Manager” tab at the top of this page. It’s super simple from there, just click “+ Add Character” on the left-hand side and create a username and password.
Alternatively, you can create a character and a forum directly from our client, just click “New Player”. This will create a character and a forum account for future use with the same name and password as you set in the client.
Loading the game:
We have two options for our client, both of which can be found on our home page. PC uses the Desktop client, and if you have an Android phone you can also use this to play.
PC users:
You will need to install windows java before running the client https://www.java.com/download/ie_manual.jsp. The client is a “jar” file. Often this can be taken over by other applications such as winrar. Make sure you are opening the jar file in the Java application, right click, open with, Java. There is a quick and easy permanent fix to this by using a small program called “Jarfix” https://johann.loefflmann.net/jarfix - this fixes 99% of problems running a client on PC.
If you are still having issues, feel free to join our Discord at https://discord.gg/V84mc5z or click the Discord link on the home page.
Android users:
You will need to run the APK file. As we are not officially on the play store (at the moment) you will need to allow the application to install for “unknown third party applications” - just follow the simple instructions on your phone. You should not need to install anything but the APK file for RSCRevolution to work. Our players often use an application cloner, many of which can be found on the play store, to open multiple clients and play on more than 1 character at a time.
Samsung phone users: We often find that Samsung’s built-in keyboard doesn’t like our client, so if you find that you cannot type correctly we recommend you install an alternative keyboard such as Google’s “Gboard” or Microsoft’s “SwiftKey”. Alternatively, Samsung’s keyboard can often be fixed by disabling the auto predict feature (who wants that anyway).
FAQ:
Can I run more than one character at once and can they interact with each other?
Yes, this is allowed. Certain build types such as Ironman won’t allow you to trade, but you are allowed to play as many character as you like (within reason).
Is auto clicking/botting allowed?
No. Auto clicking is strictly forbidden. Do not even attempt it as you will find yourself in hot water and I'm not talking bubble baths.
Do mods get paid?
No. All staff are players just like you who give up their free time to host events and help other players. They are under no obligation to do so - treat them nicely or any questions and/or problems you might face in the future may be ignored.
How do I make money in game?
Well this is always commonly asked. One method is to stand in Edgeville and shout Free stuff Please and hope that an experienced player takes pitty on you (this won't get you very far) or like in real life you get what you put into it. Just skilling alone will make you money. The high alchemy spell is how most GP comes into the game. You can also fight high level monsters for their loot and anything that you don't want you can high level alchemy!
Play and win mod hosted events! We hold many events which often consist of in game GP prizes, some are as simple as be the last man surviving when a KBD is spawned in a room or be the person with the most hits to an opponent in a free for all where all gear and supplies are supplied automatically for free!
One quick Easy fix method is to buy subscriptions from our webstore for irl $ and sell to other players via our auction house. Don't be fooled though, this is the only legit way of using real life money to help your in game account, any player to player irl trading will result in a permanent ban!
Can I share my account with a friend?
The simple answer is Yes you can. But remember your friend may be a monster. Whilst we allow sharing we do not have much pitty on you if your friend steals all your items, having said that if you are the "friend" who steals the items though you may find yourself permanently removed from the game, as we do not want players like that around here.
Feel free to message me in-game, on the forums, or on Discord with any questions or concerns you may have.
