How do I become a deadman?

I just started!  So excited.  I made this char and now trying to figure out how to pk everywhere.

Please someone let me know!  I'm ready to rock and roll!  Just like old pk/non-pk system.

I talked to the Deadman in the tutorial.... told him I wanted to become a deadman.
There was a skull and levels 3-55 on the bottom right of the screen.
I spoke with the guide, he asked me if I wanted to skip the tutorial.  I said yes.
Am I still a deadman?  How can I tell?
